The Snow Leopard is a magnificent creature, able to thrive in the harshest conditions. Their beautiful coat keeps them warm and provides camouflage, making them incredibly hard to spot in the wild. Their habitat extends across the mountainous regions of 12 countries, with 60% in China. A top predator, they are an important indicator for changes on mountain environments and are listed as a “vulnerable species.” I have always loved big cats, and am drawn to their beauty, power and agility. I have portrayed a softer side of this excellent hunter, with a focus on the fur texture, and a feeling of restfulness in its pose.
