Cerrado, Pantanal and Amazon in Brazil, some of the most unique and dear to my heart biomes on Earth, have been constantly burning in recent years, mostly due to criminal flames set by cattle farmers in adjacent farms. While local NGOs, scientists, and native tribes do their best to save the areas, Brazil’s current government not only tolerates, but gives INCENTIVES for this illegal, truly horrifying activity, fanning the flames. In this artwork I tried to depict the beauty of nature along with the horridness of the wildfire scenario. The fan shape also hints to our ever-changing climate.
