I have always loved the tiniest creatures on earth. This year, I had the pleasure of joining the www.akma-project.com researching Foraminifera in the depths of the Arctic Ocean. Foraminifera are the most abundant single celled organisms floating in ocean currents and living and moving on the seafloor. They are smaller than a sand corn and have lived since the Cambrian period, well before the dinosaurs. I selected various Foraminifera from different oceans to show these beautiful organisms. I hope this will inspire others to look closer, take note, learn, and protect the many small beings that share this beautiful planet with us. Many thanks to http://foraminifera.eu for their reference images.
