This middle relief Grizzly Bear sculpture was inspired by my recent trip to Italy and seeing all of the incredible relief sculptures in Naples and San Maurizio. After living in Alaska and studying bears up-close for 30 plus years, I remain in awe of these amazing creatures, and they are my most favorite subject. While I am normally an oil painter, I loved creating this contemporary wall piece and I am already working on a few more! This relief was created with a mixture of acrylic paint and air dry clay on stretched canvas.
