Wall color:
This sculpture was originally designed as a proposal for a university that had just selected this beautiful, endangered cat as their mascot. I selected this pose to express the characteristics that make the Lynx an appropriate inspiration for the university community, as well as a wild animal worthy of our respect and protection. They include adventurous, bold, active, clever, and confident. I might add “adaptive” as this cat is utilizing whatever presents itself as a perch, from which to scan its surroundings - in this case, a fallen tree, representing the degraded habitat to which it increasingly must adapt.
