The largest raptors in the world, Andean condors, have a 12-foot wingspan and weigh up to 33 pounds. They don’t like to waste energy flapping their wings, so they use thermals for climbing up into the sky, where they can spend hours in search of a meal of carrion, using their sharp eyesight. They can range for hundreds of miles, without a single flap. Like the Condor, Marigolds are symbols of the sun and rebirth. The flowers are used in day of the dead ceremonies to remember the deceased. I believe it is crucial to see that life and death go together, a brilliant sunrise and sunset.
