Great Horned Owls are not very common in the rain forests of the west coast of Vancouver Island since the humid moss and constant rain make it hard for an Owl to locate the sound of its prey. One winter an individual Great Horned Owl spent two months in the forests near my studio. The Owl was stalked frequently by a Bald Eagle and was eventually caught. I discovered a pile of feathers some time later and I am pretty sure it was the same Owl.
