Sculpted in 1:7 scale, "The Mammoth Hunter" depicts a so-called classic Neanderthal Male as he freezes in his footsteps to listen to his Woolly Mammoth quarry. The work is based on consultation with Dr. Ian Tattersall of the Anthropology Department at the American Museum of Natural History, New York, and follows a series of anatomical restorations and other studies to determine the probable appearance of the spearpoint and other attributes.
