'Tim' is a representation of a bull elephant from the Amboseli ecosystem in southern Kenya. He was named by Cynthia Moss, (founder and director of Amboseli Trust for Elephants, or ATE), who has been studying this population of elephants since 1972. Tim had been a favorite with tourists for many years due to his tall stature and his huge sweeping tusks. He was always one of the elephants I looked for when in Amboseli. Sadly, Tim died of a twisted gut in February of 2020 at the age of 51. I was fortunate to see him during my last visit to Amboseli, three months prior to his death. Over $12,000 was raised for ATE through the sales of the bronzes of 'Tim' in 2021.
