Africa's vast wilderness is home to the earth’s biggest concentrations of large mammals. One of my favorite animals to observe in the African bush are zebras. They are not often thought of as being aggressive by nature, but fights for dominance between stallions can be savage, with tails being bitten off, bones broken and some fights even going to the death. In my painting “Horsing Around” my desire was to capture both the beauty of the African bush and one of the most beautiful, wild and untamed, beasts of the field…the zebra.
