Portrait of a Ring-billed Gull during a windswept flight. Is beauty ever common? No species deserves such a lackluster description. I tend to select the subject(s) for my artwork from “common” local species found in my hometown and surrounding areas of the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. I feel they are often overlooked for the more flashy, exotic species. But their beauty should be equally as cherished. They have as much right to respect and protection. Never take our common beauties for granted. For never, is any beauty created in nature, common.
