Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to approximately half of the mountain gorillas of the world. The grey-crowned crane is the national symbol of Uganda, the home of Bwindi. With the decrease of tourism due to the pandemic, communities that surround this forest have been negatively impacted, creating threats to the forest and its wildlife. Urgent attention is needed to protect both the human and wildlife populations of this national treasure for this country.
