Remains of the earliest horses in North America have been found preserved in the permafrost. When Berengia was a sea of grass they roamed freely alongside many other species that have long gone extinct. Today, wild horses only live in small pockets of remote land where their existence is under constant threat. These iconic symbols of wild places are protected for now, by groups of devoted people who value them and all they stand for. "West" is a symbol of the untamed, rugged spirit that has endured for centuries and deserves to continue on.
