Back in the 70’s Maui Wowie was a strain of marijuana that was grown on the island of Maui, Hawaii. For those who smoked, it was considered to be of the highest quality. Unbeknownst to most, from January to May, the perfect high could be had just off shore. Every year north Pacific Humpback whales migrate from Alaska to Hawaii to give birth, breed and just chill. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience this high on many occasions while assisting with The Center for Whale Studies, based out of Lahaina.
