Bees pollinate a third of our food. Honey Bees pollinate so much that one out of every third bite you put into your mouth was pollinated by Honey Bees. They pollinate both food crops and wild plants. They also produce honey which is beneficial. I wanted to do a painting not just of Honey Bees but of Honey Bees working, and doing what they do best which is make honey. I emphasized the golden color of the honey, showing the true value of it and the Honey Bees. I spent time researching Honey Bees in the hive. Honey Bee hives are highly complex with the bees all working together towards a common goal.
