Chameleon | Wallhanging by van Hoang Dao | Artists for Conservation 2020

Hoang Dao VN

In the growing world of environmental turmoils and destructions, I believe that bringing back to people's mind the lifting spirits of art makes a difference in making the world better, at least to halt the current destructive trend. Art has a power of educating, soothing and healing. By joining other artists on the same cause, I believe the united force will ignite new trend and energy. I hope to learn from other artists' work on their mission to protect their own local environment, and to...

I believe the human mammal has found it increasingly more difficult to move away from our fast evolving & more technological ‘world’, where the environment is badly damaged in our thirst for knowledge, and is neglected to the point of justification & denial. What I strive to do in my portrayal of Nature, is to bring the onlooker into the subject's world using basic human instincts such as pity, without being sentimental, whilst at the same time illustrating a little of the fascinating...

Every day it seems, we turn on our media and see pain and strife and ugliness. But that is not the world which we were given. The world we were given is actually extraordinarily ordered and beautiful. My job as an artist is to continually help illuminate that. Every painting I do is defined by that overarching objective. I consider my work to be nothing more than a simple depiction and celebration of the miracles that surround us every day.

The underlying purpose of creating has to do with why certain objects inspire attention in the first place, or how they might be used to express a concept. The greater connection between object and idea, the more insightful the work will be, the more truth it will reveal, and not just about the thing painted but about the artist as well. It is all about thinking and feeling.

His vision | Wallhanging by Christina Dunzinger | Artists for Conservation 2020

Christina Dunzinger US

I paint animals because wild creatures present themselves simply as they are. Theirs is a raw beauty without artifice, the primordial connection with life clearly visible. In this connection, I encounter my own humanity at a deeper level. My portraits portray animals in a respectful way, aware of their otherness, avoiding any trace of nostalgia or sentimentality. The background is the devoid of details: nothing distract the viewer from the animal and its presence.

Raven Dance | Wallhanging by Vicky Earle | Artists for Conservation 2020

Vicky Earle CA

As an artist for conservation, I am always delighted and humbled by the stories I find in nature. My goal is to share those stories with a wider audience. When we fall in love with something, we are more likely to take action to protect it. Art, whether creating it or appreciating it, is a powerful way to do that!

There is a spiritual sense of belonging for me when I am out in Nature. With a childlike excitement, I am awed and inspired by our planet. Paintings are my way of sharing its beauty. As an artist I will leave a body of work that represents my lifelong passion and respect for our environment. I believe there will come a day when the only places we will be allowed a glimpse of true nature will be in the parks and preserves we set aside today. My 39-acre residence in North Carolina is slated to...

My name is Erin Foggoa, and I believe in the transformative power of artistic expression.  I believe in channelling messages from source with my own work, I believe in creating healing art, and I know that we are all capable of creating this magic within ourselves.”   For Erin, it begins with the eyes. The eyes convey the beauty and energy as well as the power, the depth, the knowing, the connection. Shakespeare said “the eyes are the window to the Soul” and it is that inner knowing that Erin...
