The title of this piece“Slipping into Darkness”was inspired by the song of the same name written by the band, War. The song deals with the border between sanity and insanity and how one can think he or she is sane but may be sliding into madness. The way we are destroying habitat and species is definitely not sane and the painting speaks of what we are losing and how, if it is gone, we can never get it back.
