It’s a dirty job but somebody has to do it. This is the drama the Spotted Hyena is known for but they are far more complex than the average carnivore, verbally, (sometimes called the “laughing hyena”) socially and physically. A very interesting beast. Be thankful for the scavengers, it’s far more disgusting to have carrion rot than watch it being eaten. And enjoyed! The structure of the hyena’s jaw makes crunching bone effortless along with the ability to digest everything is so nutritious for this high-energy opportunist. Even though more than just capable of chasing down dinner, who doesn’t like a free meal? Hunting requires a lot of energy when you must, wise to eat at every opportune moment, no time to be picky if you want to get your fair share. There will be competition so pay attention and, don’t be late.
