On the densely wooded slopes of the Serra da Mantiquiera in the Brazilian national park of Itatiaia, I came across this impressive moth. At night quite a number of moths gathered at the lamps of a hotel and cast gigantic fluttering shadows. In the morning they sat in the surrounding vegetation - weary and coated in dew.
