It is of no surprise that the Canada Goose is a resident of my local park. They are wonderful models for drawing and when one decides to move on, there is always another right there!!! Despite their wonderful honking and gregarious nature, their presence can be an annoyance to park visitors as well as causing damage to waterside habitats, through overgrazing and trampling. Incredibly a grazing goose can produce droppings, once every 6 minutes! Their droppings are packed with bacteria and if they are passed into the water, can cause low oxygen levels and lead to toxic algal blooms.
