This painting was inspired by a trip to one of my favorite places, the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey. I saw these Ruddy Turnstones on the remnants of a dock—and I couldn't help but ponder the dichotomy of life and the time, in the continuous rhythm of the sea.
