Artist Statement
The species is endemic to Timor-Leste and Indonesia. It has experienced a dramatic decline throughout the islands of the Java Sea, and is extinct on many of them. The decline is almost entirely due to the illegal pet trade and deforestation. A cooperative recovery plan has been adopted, strengthening control, law enforcement, monitoring trade and management of captive populations
