Artist Statement

The Yellow-browed toucanet is a rare species that is endemic to the humid forests growing on the east Adean slope of northern Peru. There is very little information on the behavior of this species other than it forages for fruit and seeds in the forest canopy. Permission for use of the photographic image for reproduction as a painting was generously given by Alfredo Begazo at www.peruaves.org
