Artist Statement

Urrao antpitta/Fenwick's antpitta (Grallaria urraoensis) is a critically endangered species of bird found in the understory of cloud forest in the Andean highlands of Colombia. Thank you to SAO - Sociedad Antioqueña de Ornitologia, Colombia - with 33 years of activities, SAO is the oldest ornithological society in Colombia, the country with the highest diversity of birds on the planet. Thanks to Ana Castaño Executive Director, and to biologist and photographer Diego Caranton for his reference photos of this species.
