Artist Statement

Loving Hummingbirds...well who doesn't? the colours on this little fellow were just to gorgeous to resist. Yet another species thought to be extinct due to habitat loss, in this case in Equador. We are losing species at such an alarming rate, these jewel bright flying gems are being lost to us forever. The beautiful French Ultramarine made from Lapis Lazuli offers a gorgeous granulation and feathering, and made from such a precious stone, seems to fit the precious nature of this little bird.
