Artist Statement

"Innocente Volo" (Flight's Innocence) portrays the inherent essence of all living things alike to survive and thrive in nature like the Socorro Dove. This wondrous bird makes it's ancestral home on Socorro Island (part of the "Mexican Galapagos"). Extensive efforts by scientist Juan Martinez (with Mexico's Institute of Ecology) are well underway to secure the Socorro Doves' future.
