Artist Statement
Native to Mexico, the Oaxaca or blue-capped hummingbird inhabit primarily the cloud forests and the upper reaches of tropical semi-deciduous forest. Populations estimates number approximately 1,000-2,499 individuals. Clear cutting of forests for agriculture is the main threat to this species survival.
