Artist Statement

I created illustrations of all 18 species of penguins for the Kansas City Zoo's exhibit, and loved learning about the variety and diversity of this remarkable bird group. The exact reason for the Northern Rockhopper's rapid decline is uncertain, but two factors are climate change and introduced predators.
