Artist Statement
This was a Madagascar fish Eagle that I observed while travelling through Madagascar in 2008. It was a special moment to watch it fly, fish and dine on a fish while perched on a tree limb at the water's edge. Rather than leaving this piece as a simple portrait, my hope was to maintain the feeling of a moment shared with this endangered bird of prey by including a sketch.
