Artist Statement

The endangered Gizo White-eye is a small passerine bird of the order of Passeriformes or perching birds with three toes forward and one back. THe Gizo White-eye has a distinguishing marking of a ring of tiny white feathers circling the eye. It is native to tropical, subtropical and temperate Africa, Asia, Australia favouring forest edge & mature forest . The Gizo white-eye is under considerable threat due to agricultural land clearance & development.
