Artist Statement

The Black-winged Trumpeter is depicted with her chick which acknowledges the endangered species threat. All hope of survival of the Black-winged Trumpeter lies within the protection of this family only with man's understanding and intervention. The most hopeful and interesting social difference of this bird species is that all family units take care of the young.
