Artist Statement
In early 1980s the New Zealand black robin was brought back from the brink of extinction by two birds , Old Blue and Old Yellow . Old blue became famous in New Zealand and her offspring now number 250 and 300 birds .
This painting was created first with pencil then painted over with acrylic
