Artist Statement

The Basra Reed Warbler is now on the endangered list due to drainage of their breeding habitat and recent droughts. They breed in papyrus and reeds in Iraq and Isreal and winter along the eastern edge of Africa. Conservation efforts are now monitoring migration patterns and investigating habitat restoration.
