My name is Rachel Dillon. My focus on endangered species started when I was just sixteen. Throughout college I geared my art projects towards anything that gave me the opportunity to research an animal species in trouble. And after becoming a new mom, I ended up writing and illustrating a non-fiction children's book, "Through Endangered Eyes - A Poetic Journey into the Wild," published by Windward Press, and honorary mention winner of the Eric Hoffer literary award. I feel that the more we talk about the problem, the more likely things will get better. I lean on hope, wanting desperately for things to change on our planet and art and writing are two ways to say something of meaning. This piece was done in acrylic paint.
