Artist Statement

Apolinar Wren - Jodie Dansereau I had never heard of the Apolinar Wren before the 'Silent Skies' project came out. I was aware of many of our animals being endangered or threatened, however, this project has been a real eye opener to me, as to the enormous number of species across the globe that are threatened or endangered. I chose a simple little wren, nothing flashy or popular, a simple little species that would be overlooked. As caretakers of this planet, I feel that many of us are not doing our due diligence and that we are overlooking and ignoring the needs of our planet and all animal species that inhabit it . And in doing so, we ignore ourselves. We must work in unity and in balance with all living things. To overlook one, is to overlook all.
