Artist Statement
The Antioquia Wren lives in the Cauca Valley in northwest Columbia. It was only discovered in 2010 and named as a new species two years later. It is under threat due to habitat loss in its very limited range. In addition to the usual threats of habitat degradation, half of this bird’s range will soon be flooded by a dam currently under construction.
