AFC Launches New Virtual Exhibit

AFC Launches New Virtual Exhibit

Vancouver, British Columbia – (November 2, 2018) -  Artists for Conservation (AFC) is excited to announce the launch of a brand new online gallery, showcasing 200 original artworks for sale in support of conservation, from its 2018 annual exhibit. The unveiling represents AFC's second generation Virtual Exhibit and features many improvements including a mobile-friendly interface, and several new search and personalization functions, including the ability for visitors to preview artwork framed and on customized wall color.

"As an organization we are constantly looking for new ways to showcase the beautiful artistic creations of our artists, both in live and virtual environments. Our goal is to ensure the artworks are accessible around the world to art collectors, educators and the general public. Technology and social media are at the forefront of our strategy enabling and driving our mission to raise both awareness and funds for the myriad conservation NGOs that are doing critical work to educate and preserve species and wild places. Technology is enabling the public to engage, learn directly from inspiring international master artists/conservationists and help protect our wildlife and wild places from extinction," explains AFC Founder and President Jeff Whiting.

Art appreciators and collectors are increasingly expecting everything to be available online and are requiring a more engaging experience instead of a static one. The power of a gallery experience married with a virtual experience will result in a wider reach, more engaged audience and increased potential for greater education and funds for conservation.

Whiting adds "AFC artists are doing important and relevant work. Artists are capturing and communicating the cultural importance of protecting our environment through art. The digital space provides a platform for those who share common interests, passions and concerns with our artists and to foster social change with technology. Enormous opportunities are yet to-come in the virtual world."

The Virtual Exhibit follows the recent AFC Festival in Vancouver, Canada, where the premiere live exhibit opened on August 19th. The exhibit has since travelled and is on display at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona from September 22nd - November 25th, 2018.
