In February 2018, I travelled to Arizona with Wild Women, Joyce Burkholder and Kathy Haycock . We painted for one week at various locations in  Sedona and the Superstistion Mountains to document the natural beauty of of the rock formations. Everyday we travelled backroads by jeep to new and inspiring painting locations. Never having been to the desert before I was in awe of the scuptural shapes and colour of the rocks in Sedona .....really beautiful. At different times of the day the shadows moved over the rocks creating magical plays of light and form. The colours of the rocks...

Working as Artist in Residence is a fun thing to do and one of my favourite venues over the years has been Derwent's "magical" Pencil Museum in the Lake District (UK).  Situated in the beautiful town of Keswick, the Pencil Museum welcomes visitors from all over the world.  As Artist in Residence I demonstrate and teach visitors how to use the Derwent art products and show them the potential of all the different media.  Here I am in the Pencil Museum with the world's largest colour pencil!www.annecorless.com

Baby Rhino Rescue has launched their first Annual International Art Contest, and I'm delighted to be a part of it, as a participant and as a judge. Entries close on September 21, just in time to celebrate WORLD RHINO DAY on September 22.I have been distressed for years over the plight of Rhinos and the unnecessary killing of this amazing and iconic creature purely for human profit and greed. I believe that art is a powerful messenger to change hearts and minds - and I hope the messages in this important Art Campaign will do just that. It's horrifying enough to view the images of adult...

Am delighted to say that I've been invited to participate in the Explorers Against Extinction 'Sketch for Survival' event.  For the past month I have been beavering away on my artwork 'Out of the Shadows' - my White Rhinocerus portrait.  When invited to participate in this excellent auction, I knew immediately which species I wished to portray.  Over previous years I have donated to the translocation of rhinos to safer areas in Africa, and I whole-heartedly support Rhino Conservation. Sadly one rhino is killed every 7 hours and an...

On our boat trip out to Gjesvaertappen Nature Reserve in Norway, in the summer of 2015, we were accompanied by thousands of puffins.  As we were unable to land on this island, a protected bird sanctuary, we sailed around its rocky shores escorted seemingly by many of the 50,000 puffins that arrive each year, as they flapped frantically just above the choppy waters, dodging waves.  Overhead white tailed eagles soared high with an occasional low swoop. Our captain spotted so many different birds I lost track...but bravely held on to my rather damp sketchbook as I tried...

In 2008 Master Artist and Environmentalist Robert Bateman had an unprecedented solo showing of his work at the McMichael Gallery in Klineburg, Ontario, Canada.  Dodge attended Robert's opening and had the opportunity to meet and talk with the renowned artist whom she had admired most of her life.  At this time he invited Dodge to attend a 5 day master artist seminar he was giving on Cortes Island, B.C.  Dodge attended that life changing seminar and had the opportunity recently to return two years later to B.C. for a second seminar with the renowned painter.  The...
