Vancouver, BC CANADA - Aug 20, 2021 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that UK artist and AFC Signature Member, Sophie Green has had her acrylic painting "The March", selected for the cover of the 2021 Artists for Conservation exhibit book. The painting depicting the perilous event of migration of King penguins in Antarctica. Each year, AFC's hardcover "coffee-table" book is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the its annual juried exhibit, with this year's exhibit, premiering in Vancouver, BC September 23 to 26. The image will be on display in AFC's virtual online exhibit this fall. Inset on the back cover of the book jacket is the a stone sculpture of the world's most endangered species of seal - "Mediterranean Monk Seal" by Canadian sculptor, Craig Benson.
The 240-page tribute to AFC's global pool of artist talent and features artwork juried into the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale - centrepiece of the upcoming Artists for Conservation Festival, as well artworks featured in a broader online virtual show. The 2021 Artists for Conservation Festival represents AFC's 14th annual exhibition of Members' artworks and ninth annual exhibit opening at the Artists for Conservation Festival.
