Why Sponsor AFC?

As we bear witness to our planet's 6th great extinction in its 3 billion year history of supporting life, a growing body of artists is compelled to tell the story of the diversity that is being lost and the human factors driving it. Humans have celebrated and depicted wildlife for millennia in paintings and sculpture, and today, as even some of the most charismatic species such as lions and tigers are on the brink, art can play a critical role in emotionally connecting the public to nature and driving a change for the better. Through the annual Artists for Conservation Festival, we immerse attendees in inspiring art and environmental learning experiences to foster appreciation and understanding of the natural world, and to inform of the important role that art and artists can play in supporting this endeavor.

To quote Robert Bateman - Honorary Chair of AFC's Advisory Committee, four-time AFC Festival Patron, and past recipient of AFC's Simon Combes Conservation Award,:

"AFC is doing fantastic work. In a world crowded by many who voice concern over the changes to our planet, AFC and its leadership are doers - leading the charge in an international artistic and cultural movement toward understanding, appreciating, and protecting nature's diversity."
