This artwork was created from a photo I took while visiting Botswana. To me, Cheetahs are truly an incredible animal, they are the fastest land animal, they have from 2000 to 3000 spots, they can survive on only one drink of water every three to four days and they are, unfortunately, classified as vulnerable by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (with only 10,000 to 12,000 left in the wild). 

This piece was created with colored pencil on pastelmat card. It's done by layering several layers of colored pencil, slowly building up the transparent colors.
