No matter which species I draw, it feels natural to portray sensitivity and innocence as a common denominator, even in the fiercest of animals - something animals do not hide and inspires us to reconnect. With their soulful expressions, you can feel each animal asking something from you, to connect, to listen. I create my art to heed their call.
There are less than 300 Sumatran tigers left in the wild. We must do everything we can to save them before they become extinct. Their Indonesian cousins, the Javan and Balinese tigers, have already been declared extinct, and experts are concerned the Sumatran tiger will follow in their footprints. Why is this happening? It’s widespread destruction of their habitats and illegal trafficking of their body parts traded for traditional medicines and trophies.
I hope my art inspires respect and appreciation for these beautiful animals.
