Adorable wombats, on a par with koalas, are another iconic Australian Wildlife species, whose numbers are sadly declining due to habitat loss for agriculture and urban development. Tragically, there have been thousands of roadkill deaths in just a few years. With more highways being built, they keep dying. Although we cannot stop the highways from being built, we can do our bit by slowing down, driving more carefully, and avoiding driving at dawn and dusk when they are most active.
