The beautiful bond between a mother elephant and her calf is one of the most endearing and closest of any mammal. A baby elephant is born blind, making them vulnerable to predators. Mother elephants are very protective for this reason. As calves learn to survive in the wild, they rely totally on their mother's intuition and all the survival skills she has learned from her family is passed on to her calf.     

Elephants are magnificent, awe-inspiring creatures. Their intelligence is extraordinary. Being so sensitive, they communicate through hearing, body language, and touch. Both African and Asian elephants are being killed by poachers for their ivory even though they are endangered. There are fewer than 40,000 Asian elephants left. On top of this, they are being cruelly treated and exploited for tourist rides.
