Orangutans are intelligent and sensitive souls who share 97% of our DNA. They play a crucial role in balancing the health of the forest ecosystem through seed dispersal.  Orangutans are losing their forest homes at a phenomenal rate. The insatiable demand for ultra-processed food is blaring like a raging fire. At the same time, fires are burning to make way for palm oil plantations while orangutans are looking for food and somewhere to live in their emancipated bodies. Palm oil is a cheap ingredient that extends the shelf life of these so-called convenient comfort foods that are only making us sick and our precious kids obese.  We need a paradigm shift in how we consume to make any positive change. It isn’t easy, but it can start with one person and even one parent at a time through being aware and motivated to make a difference.  Photo reference: Edwin Butter - Wildlife reference photos.
