As a global ambassador for the De Wildt cheetah sanctuary in South Africa I have been fortunate to be able to spend many hours in close contact with cheetahs, allowing me to study and sketch the unique expression of several individuals. The world's fastest land animal, the cheetah, is a unique and the most specialized member of the cat family and can reach speeds of 70 mph. Unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body, longer legs, and has been referred to as the greyhound of the cats. However each has their own distinct personality and I hope very much to convey the essence of the individual as well as a study of the species through my work.
