Someone To Watch Over Me
For our lunch break, our guide pulled up next to a large Kopje in the Serengeti. It took a couple of seconds before I saw a pair of lionesses on a large rock and a single lioness sleeping in the shade. We weren't the only ones watching the lions, as among the rocks were five helmeted guineafowl. In working out the composition, only three of the birds 'made the cut'. Guineafowl are known for their protective nature and while they wouldn't necessarily be guarding a lion, the title is a hint of their character.
