While sea kayaking off the coast of Maine, I came upon this boulder wedged atop a rocky islet among the Mussel Ridge Islands. Eiders are a common sight in summer there.

Exhibited at the 1991 Birds in Art exhibition, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wasua, WI.  Also exhibited at the Society of Animal Artists annual exhibition 1993.
