I've always been fascinated with the patterns and colorations of certain animals and their ability to blend in with their environment. The leopard is clearly a master of this adaptation. On our safari we came upon this young leopard, casually relaxing under the shade of a nearby tree. I was struck by the juxtaposition of the dappled sunlight through the grass and trees and the leopard's striking rosette patterns.   Although it was actually late winter/early spring at the time, I decided to take liberties with both the season and the wind. I figured I should add just a little bit of my own imagination.
