Studies in psycholinguistics tell us that our human communication is comprised of 7% of the words or linguistics we use, 38% from the tonality or how the voice sounds when we say it, and 55% of the physiology or body language when we say it. I believe that. Animals and humans nonverbally interact as well, and anyone with a pet has felt that non-verbal connectedness. When creating my artwork I am keenly aware of these things. Notice the positioning and posture of the wolf relative to the viewer in the painting and notice the resulting emotional effect. They provoke a feeling of vulnerability in the viewer. You will see the use of nonverbal cueing in many of my works. There really is a method to my madness.
